4 things YOU must know about Camogli

Hello Travelers from all over the world! 🙂

I will be showing you around Italian Paradise so YOU can explore and enjoy Italy day after day with me.
If you up for my little adventure filled with my advice, tips and photos here we go!
Get ready for my story—
Today I would like to show you my favorite place.
CAMOGLI–
This magnificent town is my favorite part of Italian Riviera and I am happy to say, I live here as well.

Camogli has 5622 inhabitants and one Zuzi 😀 lol

Patron of Camogli is Madonna del Boschetto.

The origin of the name Camogli:   “casa delle mogli” – “houses of wives” – it was from the time when the fishermen were going on the sea and their wifes were waiting at home for their return.

It is surrounded by Natural park of Portofino and Golfo Paradiso (literally Golf of Paradise).

But for me– it is —
My little secret paradise filled with a peace and tranquility.
If you LOVE listening to the sea waves while YOU enjoying a beautiful wine accompanied with fish and sea food, you are in the right place.
This little town is filled with colorful little houses from mostly 17 century.
The colors of the houses used to help fishermen finding the right way back home.

This magic place makes you feel like the time has just stopped.

Camogli

You can just sip your coffee or have a glass of a fabulous wine – very typical is white wine Vermentino.
Than around 6 pm starts “Happy Hours” so you cant miss your chance for aperitivo ( an alcohol drink) and snack which is included in the price. Can life get any better?! LOL 😀
Camogli is like a jewelry hidden from the world, it is like a black pearl so unique and its beauty makes you stunned.
Once YOU see this town – YOU will fall in LOVE!

Points of interest:
Castello della dragonara – 12th century
Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta
Food advice:
As a midday snack you must have foccacia – typical for this part of Italy.
For the lunch you must try troffie al pesto – typical pasta dish. Made with fresh pesto from basil.
And for a dinner you cant missed the sea food.
The fish is so fresh, well no surprise, when Camogli is a fishing village.
Also their special appetizer is – acciughe *(Ancovies) sotto sale or marinated or fried.
Very tasty stuff!
For a dessert try – camogliesi al rhum – chocolate sweets with rum.

People here are very friendly and helpful and makes you feel very welcome.
If you around and you need any advice, you can write me and I will be also happy to help you!
My little recommendation – you might meet me in Fatamorgana -a little caffee place where I love to watch the tranquility of the sea and the boats going by while I am enjoying delicious cup of coffee and writing this blog.
Or Barcollo – an amazing caffe place with a sea view as well but this time facing the beach.

Both places have a great caffe, great service and amazing snacks while you are enjoying your aperitivo – aperol soda is my tip!
